Cherington is a Registered Care Home with nursing that specialises in caring for up to 42 residents living with dementia. It is within easy walking distance of the sea, Marine Park Gardens and shops.
We understand how significant it is provide a warm and welcoming environment for those living at Cherington and for their extended circles of support, including friends and relatives, and our staff strive to create such a feeling in the home.
We believe it is important to remember that our residents are individuals.
Therefore, our approach to care is driven through recognition that our residents have their own experiences of life, their own needs and feelings, likes and dislikes.
In our care planning we take account of the abilities, interests and preferences of our residents and aim to respond flexibly and sensitively, focusing on what they can do rather than what they cannot do and helping them to retain their sense of identity and feelings of self-worth.
We recognise that achieving this is only possible when we engage friends, family and all personnel involved in the care of our residents, to join us in ensuring a strong circle of support for them.
