2 Mundania Road is a detached house in a quiet residential area, registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide accommodation and support to six people with learning disabilities aged 18 years and upwards.
The accommodation is on three storeys and on split-levels consisting of individual bedrooms (two with en suite facilities), communal bathrooms and toilets; utility room, kitchen, pantry, dining room and two lounges; the office is situated on the ground floor. All bedrooms are personalised and individually decorated and furnished, and to the rear of the property is an enclosed garden.
The single most important goal of the service that we aim to provide is the achievement of valued social roles for our residents and their participation in all aspects of their daily life.
We focus on what our residents can do rather than what they cannot do and where appropriate, we support our residents to enrol in local colleges of education and to pursue voluntary work or paid employment if that is their choice.
We recognise that movement along this progressive pathway is only possible when we engage friends, family and all personnel involved in the care of our residents, to join us in ensuring a strong circle of support and, we encourage them to make their views known as a means of improving our services and the development of new policies.
Our commitment to our residents to live their own life based on informed choices is underpinned by our philosophy of dignity through respect for the individual.
